I was in JROTC

Navy branch. I went to Leadership Academy. Only 2 ppl per year were selected to go… I was one. It was on a marine base in west GA. They taught me how to safely jump off an aircraft carrier. And how to turn my shirt and/or pants into a flotation device. They also taught me a method of swimming so that I could swim for days without running out of energy.

But one day, standing in rank at attention, one kid dropped dead. Apparently he had an aneurism. The drill Sargent gave us the day,and the next day off to process his death.

I wish his family well, but I also appreciate everything I was taught there.

That’s all.
