It always makes me roll my eye when tv/movies talk about “hacking their mainframe” or other similar shit. Mainframes haven’t existed since the late 80’s early 90s. They took up entire rooms and were huge, and your calculator you used in high school probably had more processing power.
Now it’s just servers. Basically a computer designed for a particular purpose. They tend to be 6 inches high and maybe a foot and a half wide (rough estimate) and one server can do the work of a million, or even a trillion mainframes combined. And modern day server rooms contain hundreds of servers.
Seriously Hollywood…. Get better tech consultants. Hell, I’d consult for minimum wage just so you’d stop annoying me with jargon that hasn’t been relevant for 40 years.
