You may think I wasn’t a father figure. You just never realized because I’ve always been a “behind the scenes” person. You have no idea how much I did to protect you and keep you safe. But I’m not the bragging type.
It really hurt my soul when you said I was never a father figure. Hell I was the “father” walking you down the field at your graduation ceremony, and the one watching you while you were playing in band with the sax my sister gave to me and I played it, then I gave you a family heirloom.
It offends and insults me that you think I wasn’t there as a father figure.
It’s OK though. I’ll love you and be there for you no matter what.
