She was probably too young to remember this. She was in elementary school. She was sick so I came over to take care of her cause her mom had to be at work. That’s what a godfather does. There was one thing that made me smile and another that made me laugh.
I’ll start with what made me laugh. I was making her a sandwich. I put some mayonnaise on it and she kept insisting she wanted “a whole bunch”. I told her she wouldn’t like that much… she kept insisting. I’m a “told ya so” kind of teacher so I loaded it up with mayonnaise.
She took one bite and her face turned into a frown. I told her “I told ya so” then I finished off the sandwich cause I hate wasting food then I made her a new sandwich and she didn’t complain about that one.
Later, this made me smile but makes me sad today. She was in elementary school (repeating myself). I found my old Sax in the closet. Taught her how to play a note… which is hard with a woodwind instrument. Especially for someone in elementary. And someone who’s sick.
she wasn’t no Coletrain but she held a B like a pro. I was so proud of her. I recorded it on my phone. The sad part is that I lost that video and that she was so young she’ll never remember that day.
I spent all day next to her making sure she was ok.
Oh and at that age she was a pain in the ass. She ain’t gonna remember how much of a pain in the ass she was lol.
